Overview

The important nature of Judiciary Administration and Court Management prompts the need for a training and refresher convocation to reanalyze the effectiveness of the current systems with the aim of aligning to dynamics of the world.
Traditionally concerned with overseeing budgets, assigning judges to cases, creating court calendar of activities, and supervising non-judicial personnel has been found wanting in terms of systems evaluation and input. The operations of Court administrators, or clerks of the court which currently include accepting the filing of court documents, maintaining a filing system of cases and a record of all final judgments, and process paperwork generated by judges have been found wanting in terms of dynamics to meet demands of the clientele. Ignorance of the products offered by the system regards gender in the courts, ensuring diversity in the court system including Victim Friendly Courts and their functionality and providing easier access to the courts for persons representing themselves without an attorney (pro se or pro per or pro deo litigants) needs to be dealt with by developing strategic tools building awareness in
these areas. Certification of court interpreters for testimony given in languages other than English needs unveiling as this is one of the major functions determined by the administration as a measure to curb information distortion to unsuspecting citizens. The aspects dealt with through judicial administration and court management make it necessary for the convening of this systems personnel together with stakeholders in conduct with this system to make a closer analysis of the operations of the system and at the same time develop tools of evaluation and strategy towards formulating a more effective system. Measures to face current and future challenges, and the long-term vision, objectives and strategies of the administration will also be an area for consideration
