Environmental, Social and Governance Sustainability

Environmental, social, and good governance practices should be well-established elements of project preparation and implementation processes. Governments and organizations should be committed to addressing governance requirements while designing and implementing development projects that could have adverse social and environmental impacts. Governance provisions are provided for in various pieces of legislation, developmental plans, programs, and policies towards sustainable development in the environment and social context. Internationally, policies have been set to ensure the environment and social standards are safeguarded. Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are of cognizance in assessing the impacts emanating from the implementation of projects towards developing mitigating mechanisms and ensuring improvement. It is therefore key for stakeholders to take into consideration the environmental, social and governance provisions towards sustainable development. In this regard, the training program on environmental, social and governance has been designed to impart governance-related knowledge and skills positively.
The scope of ATI Training is to identify strategies that are consistent with the governance of the environment, health and food security, livelihoods, and the provision of environmental services amongst other aspects. Special focus is given to threats to the environment and social security-related issues and the impacts on development, poverty alleviation, mitigation, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Local governments, Regulators, NGOs, and communities involved in Environmental, Social and Governance issues. Other employees and funding partners interested in enhancing their skills towards Environment and Social Governance are also welcome. Managers and decision-makers with the intent to broaden their knowledge of environment and social governance toward sustainable development are also ideal participants.
