Overview: 

The Strategic Human Resources Management Workshop (SHRM) responds to the increasingly dynamic and competitive business environment and the transformed legislative framework within which business is conducted and human resources are managed. Participants will be equipped with the skills and abilities to link or align human resource decision making to business strategy and performance. This will be done by creating alignment between human resources and business strategies, designing work systems that allow employees to contribute to organizational performance, establishing appropriate staffing and compensation systems to attract and retain talent

Strategic Human Resources Management, whilst still emphasising the importance of integrating organisational strategy and Strategic Human Resource strategy, suggests that the best results will be obtained in circumstances in which human resources are viewed as valued assets and a source of competitive advantage. The emphasis therefore is on developing and improving this asset and generating commitment by ensuring the needs of employees are satisfied

Target Audience: 

This course is aimed at, divisional heads, human resources practitioners and top management responsible for Human Resource (HR) strategy incorporating Organisational Development (OD), Learning, Training and Development (LTD) and the implementation of these policies and procedures in line with business objectives. Also welcome are Senior Directors and Senior Managers who wish to refresh or develop their skills further, Operational managers who wish to gain a greater understanding of the strategic HR, OD and people management and development issues, Senior Managers who would like a refresher and to develop their confidence, assertiveness and influencing skills and Departmental Directors and Departmental Managers who would like practical and relevant techniques

Course Outcomes: 

Upon completing this workshop, the delegates should be able to:

  • Identify, customise and deliver effective Strategic Human Resource training solutions for the organisation
  • Develop a multi-rater / 360 degree feedback assessment and succession planning and emerging leadership programs
  • Design competency-based culture tied to business strategies, objective and goals, creating and/or improving the performance management system
  • Design a reward system and recognition program and conducting employee opinion surveys and focus groups
  • Establish formal career development planning program, mentoring programs and providing assessment solutions to help identify strengths and areas of opportunity for development of employees
  • Customizing teambuilding events to strengthen organisational teams and improve productivity
