Sustainable finance integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into financial decision-making to foster long-term economic growth while addressing climate change, social inequality, and corporate responsibility. It encompasses various financial instruments and investment strategies that support sustainable development goals (SDGs) and align with international frameworks like the Paris Agreement.

The financial sector is undergoing a transformative shift with regulatory advancements such as the Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, which defines sustainable investments. Several countries, including the European Union, China, South Africa, Singapore etc.., have developed taxonomies to guide financial institutions in sustainable investment practices. 

This course will provide a structured approach to understanding sustainable finance, its importance, key regulations, instruments, and market developments
