Overview: 

Training and staff development is an integral part of any organization and plays an important role in enhancing the overall level of service offered, as well as promoting staff morale and enthusiasm. It provides competitive advantage for organizations through capacity development and staff motivation. 

Besides enhancing participants understanding of the role and function of capacity development in institutions, this program also teaches how to manage this important function. It also ensures that policy and decision makers manage training and development strategically, linking training and development to key organizational objectives

Target Audience: 

The course is designed for: 

·       Heads of Training, Human Resource Managers, Training Coordinators, Training Officers, Line Managers and any other staff who are involved in the operations of the training function

Course Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this workshop, the delegates should be able to:

  • Specify how training and development can contribute to the institutional core business
  • Apply techniques in training needs analysis, training design and evaluation
  • Apply strategies to manage – day-to-day – systems, priorities, trainers and relationships with customers within the organization 
  • Apply strategies to evaluate and choose consultants and external trainers for value addition 
  • Draw up a plan outlining how they can show the strategic importance of the Training Function 
  • Provide evidence of its contribution to the organization’s key objectives
