Overview:

This course includes physical part of Stores and warehouse management being important aspects, and guidelines for inventory Materials Management, Preservation, Materials Handling, Safe Operations and Construction of Storehouses and Stockyards. Strategic methods of evaluating and comparing the efficiency/performance of stores functions at various business units, since they shall be operating on the same system.

  • Understand optimisation of operating costs and how this can be achieved by balancing the respective needs of the customer (demands for service), the law that demands compliance with safety standards and the organisational profitability.
  • Understand the advantages of sound coding system; review the methods of coding and interpretation of codes; unpack the different types of specifications and learn how to conduct a standardisation programme.
